Deleting your data

This page explains how to erase your funkihoo account and the data attached to it. Required by Meta's Facebook Login policy and referenced by our Privacy Policy §Your rights.

Delete your account from the app

The fastest path — no email, no wait for us.

Sign in on funkihoo.com.
Go to Account settings → Delete account.
Confirm. Your account moves into a 30-day soft-delete state.

During those 30 days you can sign back in to restore. After 30 days the account and everything attached to it (profile, photos, chats, matches, preferences) is permanently removed. This is not reversible after that point.

Can't sign in?

If you lost access to your email or phone and can't sign in to use the in-app flow, email support@funkihoo.com from any address with:

The email or phone number the account is registered under.
Enough context for us to verify the account belongs to you (approximate signup date, city, or a photo we can compare against the account).

We reply within 3 business days and complete verified deletion requests within 14 days.

Signed in with Google, Facebook, or Apple?

Deleting your funkihoo account also revokes the connection to your Google / Facebook / Apple sign-in. You do not need to also disconnect the app on their side, but if you'd like to:

Google — myaccount.google.com/permissions → find funkihoo → Remove access.
Facebook — Settings → Apps and Websites → funkihoo → Remove.
Apple — Settings → Apple ID → Sign in with Apple → funkihoo → Stop Using Apple ID.

What we keep after deletion

We keep only what the law requires or safety demands. Everything else is gone.

Financial records — subscription and credit-pack transaction records, held for the period required by tax law in the jurisdiction where you paid (typically 6–7 years in the US, EU, and UK).
Trust & safety records — if your account was banned or reported for safety reasons, we keep the moderation record to prevent re-signup circumvention.
Under-18 signup attempts — a one-way hash of the phone number (never the number itself) to enforce the annual cooldown per our age gate. The hash cannot be reversed to identify you.

Everything else — profile, photos, messages, matches, preferences, activity — is permanently deleted from our production databases and backups within 30 days of the final deletion completing.

Third-party services

Some of your data lives briefly in services we use to run the platform. When you delete your account, we send deletion requests to each of them:

Stripe — customer + payment method records (Stripe retains transaction records per financial regulations).
Resend — email delivery logs (auto-expire after 30 days).
Twilio — SMS delivery logs (auto-expire after 30 days).
AWS Rekognition — no persistent storage. Liveness sessions are ephemeral.
Amazon Chime — no persistent call recordings. Only signaling metadata is retained briefly for support.
PostHog + Sentry — pseudonymous analytics and error logs, purged on request.
