Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: 2026-07-29. These Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") govern all use of funkihoo. They are incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and are enforceable as part of that agreement. Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension, permanent removal, forfeiture of unused paid balances, and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement.

1. Who funkihoo is for

funkihoo is a Muslim matrimonial platform for adults (18 years and older) seeking marriage. Behavior that undermines the matrimonial purpose of the platform — casual dating solicitation, hookup arrangement, escort work, adult-content solicitation, or any activity intended to exploit other users — is prohibited.

2. Age restrictions

  • You must be 18 years or older to create an account, use the service, or transact with any user of the service.
  • You may not create an account for, on behalf of, or to impersonate a person under 18.
  • You may not contact, groom, solicit, or attempt to establish a connection of any kind with a person you know or suspect to be under 18, whether that person is on funkihoo or off-platform. This rule is absolute.
  • Any content depicting or appearing to depict a minor in a sexual or exploitative context is prohibited without exception and is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline where legally required, and to law enforcement.

3. Illegal acts

You may not use funkihoo to plan, commit, facilitate, promote, or profit from any illegal act. This includes, without limitation:

  • Any activity prohibited by the laws of your jurisdiction of residence, your country of nationality, the jurisdiction of the person you are communicating with, or the laws of the United States and the State of New Jersey.
  • Violations of sanctions or export controls (including OFAC-restricted transactions).
  • Illegal firearms, drugs, controlled substances, weapons of mass destruction, or other contraband commerce.
  • Money laundering, terrorist financing, or evasion of financial regulation.
  • Tax evasion.

4. Prohibited content

The following categories of content are prohibited on funkihoo. Uploading, sharing, linking to, soliciting, or referencing them is a violation, regardless of whether the content is in your profile, photos, bio, messages, or metadata.

  • Sexually explicit or pornographic content of any kind. funkihoo is a matrimonial platform. Nudity, sexually explicit imagery, sexually explicit text, requests for sexually explicit content, and links or references to such material are prohibited. Modest, tasteful profile photos are expected; images focused on cleavage, undergarments, shirtless torsos, or otherwise designed to sexualize the profile are removed.
  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), child sexual exploitation, and solicitation or targeting of minors. Any content that sexualizes a minor, or that could reasonably be interpreted as depicting a minor in a sexual or exploitative context (Child Sexual Abuse Material, "CSAM"), and any attempt to solicit, target, groom, or facilitate contact with a person under 18 (on or off the platform) are zero-tolerance violations. Detected CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and to law enforcement, without notice to the poster.
  • Sexual violence and coercion. Content depicting, glorifying, instructing, threatening, or soliciting sexual violence — including rape, sexual assault, non-consensual acts, revenge porn, or "grooming" content — is prohibited.
  • Non-consensual intimate content. Sharing or threatening to share intimate images or recordings of another person without that person's ongoing, informed consent is prohibited. This applies regardless of who originally created the content.
  • Graphic violence or gore. Content depicting real-world violence, torture, self-harm, suicide, or bodily injury is prohibited outside of clearly marked news or educational context.
  • Hate speech. Content attacking a person or group based on protected characteristics — including race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age — is prohibited. Legitimate discussion of religious practice or matrimonial preferences is not hate speech; contempt or dehumanization is.
  • Terrorist and violent-extremist content. Content that promotes, recruits for, glorifies, or provides material support to designated terrorist organizations or violent-extremist movements is prohibited.
  • Illegal-goods or illegal-services promotion. Offers, solicitations, or referrals for illegal drugs, firearms, controlled substances, counterfeit goods, stolen property, or other illegal commerce.
  • Malware and phishing. Links or files designed to compromise devices, steal credentials, or defraud users.
  • Personally identifying information of others. Publishing a person's real name, home address, phone number, workplace, or other identifying information without their consent ("doxxing") is prohibited.

5. Prohibited behavior

The following behaviors are prohibited on funkihoo, whether on-platform, in messages, or in off-platform interactions that begin on the platform:

  • Facilitation of human trafficking or sex trafficking. Using funkihoo to recruit, transport, harbor, receive, or coordinate the exploitation of any person — including for sexual exploitation, forced labor, servitude, debt bondage, or slavery — is a zero-tolerance violation and is reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline (U.S.: 1-888-373-7888) and law enforcement.
  • Escort work, prostitution, and transactional sexual services. Offering, soliciting, or arranging paid sexual services through funkihoo is prohibited. This includes both explicit offers and coded language.
  • Scam activity intended to defraud users. This category includes but is not limited to:
    • Romance scams: pretending to seek marriage while manipulating a user into sending money, gifts, or personal identifiers.
    • Fake investment schemes ("pig butchering"), cryptocurrency scams, or coerced trading on external platforms.
    • Advance-fee fraud, inheritance scams, and impersonation of officials.
    • Coordinating fraudulent immigration schemes, sham marriages for immigration benefit, or misrepresentation to immigration authorities.
    • Emotional-blackmail schemes involving intimate content, photos, or messages shared during a conversation.
    Suspected scam activity is reviewed with priority and, where sufficient evidence exists, reported to law enforcement, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, or applicable foreign consumer-protection authorities.
  • Harassment, threats, stalking, and doxxing. You may not harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or attempt to intimidate any user — on or off the platform. Coordinating group harassment of a user is prohibited even if you do not personally send abusive messages.
  • Aiding, abetting, or encouraging abuse. You may not encourage, induce, assist, or facilitate another person's harassment, threats, or abuse of any user.
  • Solicitation of off-platform contact before consent. You may not request contact information (phone numbers, external messaging handles, social-media identities, payment addresses) in your profile, in a first message, or before the other user has accepted your introduction. This rule exists to protect users from off-platform scams and abuse.
  • Impersonation and identity fraud. You may not impersonate another real person, misrepresent your age, gender, or marital status, use another person's photos without consent, or otherwise deceive users about your identity.
  • Automation, scraping, and unauthorized data collection. You may not scrape, crawl, harvest, or automate access to funkihoo, or use the service to build a dataset for training machine learning systems without express written permission.
  • Interference with security or moderation. You may not attempt to bypass rate limits, moderation filters, security controls, or ban enforcement; create additional accounts after removal; or coordinate ban-evasion strategies with other users.
  • Chargeback abuse and payment fraud. You may not use stolen payment instruments, initiate chargebacks in bad faith, or engage in payment fraud. Chargeback abuse may result in account termination and referral for fraud investigation.

6. Photo standards

Because photos are the strongest signal of authenticity on funkihoo, we apply specific standards:

  • Photos must be of you, taken by you or with the subject's consent.
  • AI-generated faces, celebrity photos, stock photos, and photos of other real people without their consent are prohibited.
  • Photos must be modest and tasteful in matrimonial context. Photos that focus on nudity, cleavage, undergarments, shirtless torsos, sexualized poses, or otherwise sexualize the subject are removed.
  • Photos must not depict weapons, drugs, hate symbols, or extremist iconography.
  • Photos must not include minors as the subject or in the foreground. Family photos where a child is incidentally in the background are acceptable, but photos that feature a minor are removed.

7. Reporting

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Guidelines, please report it:

  • In-app: use the report button on the profile, message, or chat.
  • Email: trust@funkihoo.com for trust & safety; support@funkihoo.com for general.
  • Emergencies (imminent risk of harm): contact local law enforcement first (911 in the U.S.), then notify us at trust@funkihoo.com so we can preserve relevant evidence and respond to law-enforcement requests promptly.

Reports are confidential — we do not reveal to the reported user who reported them. Filing knowingly-false reports is itself a violation and may result in restrictions on your ability to report.

8. Enforcement

Depending on the severity, pattern, and context of a violation, enforcement may include:

  • Removal of the offending content.
  • A warning delivered in-app and to the account's email.
  • Temporary suspension of specific features (messaging, photo upload).
  • Temporary suspension of the account.
  • Permanent removal of the account, with forfeiture of unused paid balances.
  • Referral to law enforcement, NCMEC, the National Human Trafficking Hotline, the FTC, or applicable foreign authorities.

Zero-tolerance categories (child sexual exploitation, trafficking facilitation, credible threats of imminent violence) result in immediate permanent removal on first substantiated violation. Other categories follow a graduated enforcement path unless the pattern warrants immediate escalation.

9. Appeals

You may appeal a ban through the appeal process in your account settings. Appeals are reviewed within seven (7) business days by a moderator who did not make the original decision. Reinstatement is at our discretion. Zero-tolerance violations are generally not appealable; other categories are.
